Applications of chemistry in meeting the needs of society. This includes green energy sources, new environmentally friendly materials, and improving chemical processes to minimize waste.
Prior to coming to Washington College Dr. Mac Fadden was Vice President of Advanced Materials and Devices at Honeywell, Inc. where he was responsible for the materials and sensors research. Before taking this psition in 1997, he was Vice President, Research Division at W.R. Grace & Co., where he was responsible for analytical research and new product and process development in electrochemistry, bioproducts, and catalysis.
He served as Chair of the Maryland Blue Ribbon Committee on Technology in Education from 1995-1997. He was a member of the National Research Council’s (NRC) Panel for Chemical Science and Technology from 1992 to 1997 and served as Chair for the NRC Panel for the National Insititute Science and Technology’s (NIST) Services in 2002. He also served as Chair of the NRC Panel on Bullet Lead Analysis in 2003.
